Tokyo, Hakone, Kyoto, then Osaka. Five rounds, a Hakone ryokan with onsen, and a Shinkansen into Kyoto.

This 10-night, 5-round itinerary starts in Tokyo, continues to Hakone, then Kyoto, and finishes in Osaka. Golf courses were selected with Golf Digest Japan Tour Center: Yokohama Country Club, Taiheiyo Club Gotemba, Grand Fields Country Club, Seta Golf Course (North), and Golden Valley Golf Club. Travel is by private car or van, with reserved Shinkansen seats from Mishima to Kyoto. Breakfasts are included after arrival. Hotel dinners are included on both Hakone nights and the first Kyoto night.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Tokyo Met at Haneda or Narita. Private transfer to the hotel (Haneda about 25–45 minutes; Narita longer). Stay at The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Tokyo Shiodome – 3 nights.

Day 2: Golf at Yokohama Country Club Private transfer (about 50 minutes each way). 18 holes at Yokohama Country Club, walking with caddie. Stay at The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Tokyo Shiodome.

Day 3: Free day in Tokyo Optional activities on request. Stay at The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Tokyo Shiodome.

Day 4: Golf at Taiheiyo Club Gotemba – Hakone Breakfast box to go. Check out. Private transfer to the course (about 2 hours). 18 holes at Taiheiyo Club Gotemba, cart with caddie. Transfer to Hakone (about 50 minutes). Dinner at the ryokan. Stay at Hakone Suishoen – 2 nights.

Day 5: Golf at Grand Fields Country Club Private transfer (about 40 minutes each way). 18 holes at Grand Fields Country Club, cart with caddie. Dinner at the ryokan. Stay at Hakone Suishoen.

Day 6: Hakone sightseeing – Shinkansen to Kyoto Check out. Large bags can go ahead by delivery to Kyoto (allow two days; pack a carry-on for the next day). Sightseeing in Hakone and the Kawaguchiko area (ropeway / Owakudani). Transfer to Mishima Station. Reserved Shinkansen to Kyoto, then private transfer to the hotel (about 35 minutes). Dinner at the hotel. Stay at Omuro Kadensho – 2 nights.

Day 7: Free day in Kyoto Optional activities on request. Stay at Omuro Kadensho.

Day 8: Golf at Seta North – Osaka Check out. Private transfer (about 55 minutes). 18 holes at Seta Golf Course, North Course, cart with caddie. Transfer to Osaka (about 60 minutes). Stay at Hotel Nikko Osaka – 3 nights.

Day 9: Free day in Osaka Optional activities on request. Stay at Hotel Nikko Osaka.

Day 10: Golf at Golden Valley Golf Club Private transfer (about 1 hour 20 minutes each way). 18 holes at Golden Valley Golf Club, cart with caddie. Stay at Hotel Nikko Osaka.

Day 11: Departure Check out by 11:00. Private transfer to Itami Airport (about 60 minutes). Extensions on request.

    • Tee times are typically confirmed 2 to 3 months in advance. Alternate courses may be used for availability, tournaments, or maintenance.

    • Japanese golf is a full-day club visit: check-in, the round, often a sit-down lunch between nines on Honshu, then checkout. Hokkaido courses more often play through without a mid-round meal.

    • A sport jacket is usually required entering and leaving the clubhouse. Caddies are typical for visitors. Tipping is not customary; if you give one, it is not included in the tour.

    • Many clubs have a bath or onsen after play.
