Number
7 Par 4 402 yards
Beauty and The Beast This par
4 is of average length with a tee shot that will lull you to sleep (if you can
ignore the carry over a valley of wild grasses). But reach your drive and you're
faced with a mid-iron over a large lake to a green that you'd better be below
the hole on. A natural outcropping of rocks with wildflowers frames the green,
with the clubhouse in the background.
Number
2 Par 4 432 yards Viewed
from the side of the green, this par 4 runs downhill from the tee and back
uphill to a large and flat green. From the tee, you can see a number of farms
and fields off in the distance and to your right. The hole plays to its yardage,
so a solid tee shot is a must. This begins a run of three strong holes, par in
and you're in good shape for the back nine.
Number 11 Par 4 405 yards A drive over a marshy pond
into a fairway that slopes like it doglegs, to the right. Your approach is
slightly downhill from here with a mid to short iron. From this fairway, you can
see your next two holes, as well as the 17 bunkers you've got to avoid to par or
birdie them. Number 11 is a fairly flat green, so birdie is a
possibility.
Number 12 Par 3 161 yards This uphill
par 3 plays to a well guarded green sloping severely front to back. The golfer
must carry a wild wetland area before reaching the green, which is nestled in a
half-moon of mature oaks. The front-right is guarded by an 8 foot deep bunker.
Pound for pound, maybe the hardest hole on the course.
Numbers 13 & 14 Par 5 Par 3 515 yards 149 yards The green in the foreground is part of number
13, a par five requiring a solid drive over a waste area to a generous landing
area. Reachable in two, this greens complex is surrounded by bunkers for the
approach shot slightly off-line. In the background is the green for number 14, a
short iron par 3 that typically plays into a strong wind. With an undulating
green and deep bunkers, leaving this hole with three is "par for the
course."
Number 15 Par 4 337 yards A beautiful
tee shot and approach. Place your fairway wood up the right side of the hole, a
drive left will be blocked by the mature trees on that side. Once in the
fairway, you've got a shortiron into a very deep and narrow green. Miss it right
or long left and face an interesting bunker shot to a small target.
